Echeveria ‘Grosso’ is a stunning hybrid succulent with thick, fleshy, blue-green leaves that form a large, dense rosette. Known for its bold, symmetrical shape and attractive, fleshy leaves, this plant is a popular choice for succulent collections, both indoors and outdoors. It is an easy-to-care-for variety that thrives with minimal attention.

  • Size: Grows up to 12–18 inches (30–45 cm) tall and 12–18 inches (30–45 cm) wide.
  • Hardiness: USDA zones 9–11. Tolerates temperatures as low as 25°F (-4°C) but should be protected from frost.
  • Light: Requires bright, indirect light to full sun. The more sunlight it receives, the better the color and compactness of the rosette. Indoors, place near a south- or west-facing window for optimal light.
  • Soil: Prefers well-draining, sandy soil or a cactus/succulent mix. Adding perlite or pumice can enhance drainage and prevent root rot.
  • Watering: Use the "soak and dry" method—allow soil to dry out completely between waterings. During the growing season (spring and summer), water about once every 1–2 weeks. Reduce watering during the dormant period (fall and winter).
  • Temperature: Ideal range is 60–80°F (16–27°C). Avoid exposure to frost and freezing temperatures.
  • Repotting: Repot every 2–3 years or when the plant outgrows its pot. Make sure to use a container with proper drainage.
  • Indoor Care: Provide adequate light by placing the plant near a bright window. Ensure the pot has good drainage to avoid water accumulation.
  • Outdoor Care: In warmer climates, plant in full sun but provide some afternoon shade during extremely hot weather to avoid sunburn.
  • Maintenance: Remove dead leaves to promote airflow and prevent fungal infections. Echeveria ‘Grosso’ can be propagated easily by taking leaf cuttings or offsets.
  • Fertilizing: Fertilize during the growing season (spring and summer) with a diluted cactus or succulent fertilizer to encourage healthy growth.
