Haworthia ‘Big Banded Zebra’ is a striking succulent known for its bold, white banded markings on dark green, triangular leaves. This slow-growing, compact plant forms dense rosettes and is perfect for small pots, dish gardens, and indoor collections. Unlike many succulents, it thrives in lower light conditions, making it an excellent choice for indoor spaces.

  • Size: Grows up to 4–6 inches (10–15 cm) tall and 4 inches (10 cm) wide.
  • Hardiness: Hardy in USDA zones 9–11. Can tolerate temperatures as low as 30°F (-1°C) for short periods but should be protected from frost.
  • Light: Prefers bright, indirect light to partial shade. Can tolerate some direct sun but may scorch in intense heat. Ideal for north- or east-facing windows indoors.
  • Soil: Requires well-draining soil, such as a cactus or succulent mix. Adding perlite or sand helps improve aeration.
  • Watering: Use the "soak and dry" method—allow soil to dry completely between waterings. Water every 2–3 weeks in summer and reduce to once a month in winter. Avoid overwatering to prevent root rot.
  • Temperature: Thrives in 60–80°F (16–27°C). Protect from extreme cold and frost.
  • Repotting: Does not need frequent repotting. Repot every 2–3 years in spring if roots become crowded. Use a shallow pot with drainage holes
  • Indoor Care: Ideal for offices and homes with moderate light. Keep away from excessive humidity.
  • Outdoor Care: Can be grown outdoors in warm climates but should be shaded from harsh afternoon sun.
  • Maintenance: Remove dead leaves from the base occasionally. Easily propagated by offsets—separate and replant in dry soil.
  • Fertilizing: Feed with a diluted cactus fertilizer once in spring and summer for healthy growth.
